“We’re just not the people we used to be.”
I grilled hamburgers last night, first time in a long while. It wasn’t until after we had finished dinner that I realized I may have made them too big. Out of habit, I made thick burgers about the size of my hand. After dinner, I realized they were 1/2lb burgers.
Before Optifast, my wife and I would each have eaten one 1/2lb burger, a salad and chips; I would have still been hungry. Now, I ate an entire burger out of habit and am paying for it today. My wife observed we’re not the same people we were before I went through Optifast, and she’s right – even things as habitual as the size of the burgers I make have to be reviewed.
Just one more way habit used to perpetuate unhealthy choices.
