I think I realize now why my weight went up two days in a row – Olive Garden. I think I seriously under-estimated the amount of calories in their Chicken Parmigiana I ate in a momentary fit of weakness. To be honest, I don’t typically eat there – most of their food tastes microwaved, and even their salads don’t taste as good as they used to. For that matter, I probably under-estimate the caloric value of their salad, too. They don’t have nutrition information available online – wonder if they have a brochure or something in the restaurant itself?
I have to admit, I really don’t get MySpace. I hear how other people use it, and it sounds fascinating. Then I log in, and I get underwhelmed – all I see a glorified playground with date-me spam, indie music (some of which I’m sure is good) and now they’re getting into news? I think if I could find a way to hook WordPress up to MySpace, I’d have a reason to get more familiar with what it offers. As it is now, MySpace and other similar social network places are relegated to rainy-day afternoon activities.
Anyone use MySpace to help in their weight-loss? Are there weight-loss type groups available? Traineo’s community functionality is pretty sparse and media-light; I haven’t tried others like Sparkpeople. Anyone have any favorite online fitness community hang-outs?
I have tried sparkpeople. I really enjoyed it – it has a pretty active message boards, groups you can join, and tracking tools for exercise and nutrition. They provide articles to read each day and daily emails to keep you motivated. The only down-side was that it was kind of time consuming to track everything, read the emails and articles and post to your group or message boards. I hit a point in my life where I realized my finances were in trouble. I decided to focus my time on getting those straightened out for the next few months.
Now I am trying to have a a balance of both – keep the finances in check and also my diet. I may try sparkpeople again.
I do believe all the ideas you have introduced on your post. They’re really convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for newbies. May just you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
