Love him or hate him, if you pay attention to the tech world you definitely know him.  Jason Calacanis has started something that caught my eye, and I thought I’d try it out - “fatblogging.”

He explains the fatblogging movement as:

Basically the goal is to share what’s working and support each other in being not-fat.

Format: One blog post a day with your weight as the title. You can also add to the post what you’re doing in terms food consumption, exercise, and what’s working for you–however, the base line for involvement is three numerical characters a day in the subject line of a post.

Now, I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of weighing each day, and I’m not necessarily endorsing it as a suggested practice.  However, I do think harnessing the blogosphere to promote healthy lifestyle habits through sharing tips on eating and healthy weight-loss is a fantastic idea.

So, here goes.  Today I will begin “fatblogging,” which will comprise of a daily post with my weight as the topic, and perhaps a line or two about what’s been successful or not successful recently.

Also, I’ve been preparing a comparison of some of the more popular online weight-loss diary/journal sites; stay tuned for that series to begin sometime this week.
